Celebrating 100 Years of Marine Aviation
Since the birth of Marine aviation on 22 May 1912, when Marine 1stLt Alfred A. Cunningham reported to Annapolis, MD, for flight training, until today, Marines have been making history in the air. From the pioneering early days of experimentation at Annapolis and Pensacola, to today’s missions being flown in support of Operation ENDURING FREEDOM in Afghanistan, Marine aviation has been at the forefront of developing and perfecting the tools (technology) and ideas (doctrine) to accomplish its mission of supporting Marines in any climate or place.
Power Ten, Inc. would like to recognize the achievements and dedication of Marine aviation and salutes those who have made the accomplishments of the past 100 years possible.
