MDM BoothModern Day Marine (MDM) took place September 27 to 29, 2011, with vendors displaying all of their latest wares to the Marine Corps and showing where the future is headed in defense technology. Billed as the largest gathering of Marine Corps contractors, MDM, taking place at Quantico Marine Base in Virginia, featured hundreds of booths displaying the latest hardware and software.

Power Ten, Inc. was there not only displaying their goods and services, but also giving back to those who have served in the military. On Saturday evening, Power Ten, Inc. hosted a table at the Families of the Wounded Fund Benefit Gala, a dinner to raise funds the families of those who have been injured while serving their country. The mission of the Families of the Wounded Fund is to provide financial resources in support of family members/caregivers of military service men and women who have either been wounded in combat operations or injured as the result of line-of-duty activities in support of combat operations. This assistance is available while these patients are receiving prescribed medical treatment.

Families of the Wounded DinnerJoining Scott Kerchner, Rob Monroe, and Gary Spruill at the Power Ten, Inc. table, was wounded warrior Sergeant Herman Lubbe, USMC. Sergeant Lubbe was wounded in an IED attack in Sangin, Helmand Province, Afghanistan in June of this year. Sergeant Lubbe and his family have benefited from the Families of the Wounded Fund, enabling his family to stay with him in a new state of the art facility provided by the fund at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center (WRNMMC).

MCAA golfersIn another event, supporting the Marine Corps Aviation Association (MCAA), Power Ten, Inc. participated in the MCAA annual golf tournament. Taking place on October 5, 2011, the tournament provides a chance for active duty, government and industry to get together, play golf, and raise money for several Marine Corps charities including the Marine Corps Heritage Foundation and Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation.

The Power Ten, Inc. group included Gary Spruill from Power Ten, Inc., Mr. Tony Greco (Director, MAGTF C2 TTF), and Lt. Col. Chris McVay, USMC. The foursome sponsored by Power Ten, Inc. shot an amazing 64 in a “best ball” format.
